We strive to preserve and promote Uyghur heritage, art and culture¹

Established in 2021, The Uyghur Heritage Society,  safeguards and promotes Uyghur traditional culture in Uyghur Canadian communities. We empower Uyghur Canadians to embrace Canadian culture while preserving their heritage and seeking to enhance their lives within the broader Canadian community. Through educational initiatives and cultural events, we aim to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of Uyghur culture among all Canadians. As a NON-PROFIT organization, we are dedicated to preserving and advocating for Uyghur cultural heritage and contributing to Canada’s multicultural landscape.

MISSION STATEMENT

 

The Uyghur Heritage Society, based in Vancouver, Canada, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and showcasing the diverse cultural legacy of the Uyghur people. We aim to increase understanding of the Uyghur community, advocate for their rights, and nurture a strong Uyghur Canadian identity. We also actively support human rights initiatives for Uyghurs in Canada and worldwide. Join us in our mission to preserve Uyghur cultural heritage and champion their rights.

We Educate

Taught by our professionally trained teachers, we ensure that students of all ages and levels will receive top-notch Uyghur language and dance classes. These cultural classes and programs welcome anyone who appreciates the rich and spirited Uyghur culture.

We Cultivate

We offer programs and organize workshops or events to cultivate Canadians’ interest and awareness of the Uyghur culture. These will create opportunities for Canadians to experience the colourful Uyghur culture, including cuisine, dance, music, and art.

We Engage

Being a part of Canada, we proudly celebrate and promote Canada’s diversity. We actively engage and participate in other cultural activities and festivals across Canada. 

We Provide Care

We provide language help and translation services to Uyghur newcomers. In the future, we hope to establish a retirement home and offer home care services for Uyghur seniors.
